Camille Cyprian is currently the SNAP Outreach Manager at Second Harvest Heartland, where she works with the government and organizations to assist families and individuals gain access to food. Prior to joining Second Harvest Heartland, Camille worked at Wellstone Action for 4 years in various positions, most recently as Logistics Director.
A true 80s baby and lover of all things artistic, Camille's first love is the performing arts. She is a classically trained ballerina, social justice theater actress, performance poet, and was a singer in a past life. She particularly enjoys alliteration, MC battles, and pretending she can breakdance. She is also an admitted twitter-holic.
Camille is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with an individually designed major of Social Justice and Community Organizing. Combining work in African American and Chicano Studies, Social Justice, Sociology, Law/Criminology, and Youth Studies. In college, she spent most of her free time using the performing arts to promote social justice on campus and throughout the city. In 2009, Camille co-authored an article in the book: Changing the Race: Racial Politics and the Election of Barack Obama. She continues to be a featured guest blogger for several progressive and community blogs. Camille is currently a candidate for a Masters of Nonprofit Management at Hamline University.
