Step1

Find your Volunteers

Your first step is identifying who/where you will target for volunteer recruitment. You don't have the time or the resources to try and recruit everyone who cares about your issue or candidate, and you have to know where to start.

Step2

Connect with your Volunteers

It's much easier to ask someone to do something (like volunteer) if you already have established a relationships with them.

Step3

Create Roles for Volunteers

In addition to paying attention to potential volunteers' issues, interests, and values, you should have learned two other things about them: their capacity and their commitment.

Step4

Make the Ask

Now that you've identified potential volunteers, gotten to know them, and figured out a variety of roles for them to play, you're all ready to get hard commitments from folks.
